Anne Weld Bio

Anne Weld - Biography

I grew up in Virginia watching my father create images on his drafting board.  I was mesmerized by what the imagination could produce.  I started to draw at an early age and have never stopped.

Living in Europe as an adult for almost 10 years allowed me to see firsthand the works of the Masters; the beauty of their paintings and the smell of the oil and old canvas was infectious.   Not long after moving to Charleston, South Carolina my husband and I built my first studio and I now surround myself with the nectar of fresh oil paint!  My easel sits on top of my Dad’s drafting table so I haven’t gone far from my roots!  My paintings reflect my love for the beauty, majesty and vastness of creation. The Creator’s palette is infinite whereas mine is more restricted.  Nevertheless, it is my passion to try to offer the viewer a taste of the amazing beauty that surrounds us.
